Investing in workforce training statewide

Dimension is delivering measurable savings through community solar—prioritizing access for low- and moderate-income households.

The challenge

Energy costs remain a growing burden for many New Jersey households, particularly for low- and moderate-income residents with limited access to traditional solar options.

While the state’s Community Solar Energy Program has expanded access, building solutions that deliver consistent savings and reach those most in need remains critical.

Our approach

Dimension is scaling community solar across New Jersey to deliver our subscribers direct, ongoing energy bill savings—without upfront costs. Since energizing our first project in 2023, we’ve partnered with municipalities and community organizations to connect residents to savings statewide.

By utilizing warehouse rooftop space, our projects can be deployed with minimal land impact. At least 51% of each project’s capacity is dedicated to LMI households, ensuring savings reach those who need them most.

To build a pipeline of clean energy talent, we’ve doubled down on partnerships with community colleges and expanded training programs that connect local participants directly to employers and apprenticeship opportunities. We also support STEM curricula in schools and after-school programs across the Garden State.

The power generated by hosting arrays on our industrial rooftops goes back to local neighborhoods and supports low-income areas."

Real estate is a local business. Being a local partner means not only using local resources, but leaving the community better than you found it, including workforce training, giving back, and delivering on projects that save the local community money. Dimension’s done that.”

The partnership between Dimension and community action agencies like ours is extremely beneficial for our utility assistance program. Instead of just paying their utility bill and calling us 6 months later for help again, the long-term monthly discount with community solar can help people maintain a lower energy bill."

We don’t just want to train somebody for their first job, we want to put them on a career pathway. We really want the program to serve our students and benefit the economic development of the county."

Community solar training is a great opportunity because I think it will be the future – everywhere will have community solar. So it’s a great way to get a job.”
