100+ MW of distributed NEM solar planned across Pennsylvania over the next three years

Projects up to 3 MW interconnected directly to the distribution grid, enabling faster time to power

Up to $1 billion in savings for ratepayers anticipated as distributed solar scales

Dimension is deploying distributed solar that delivers grid relief today—not years from now—as data centers and industrial growth push Pennsylvania’s grid to its limits.

The challenge

Pennsylvania’s electricity market is under pressure from rapid growth. Rising demand from data centers and industrial expansion is pushing the grid to its limits—and driving up capacity costs across the PJM market. State leadership has made reducing capacity costs a priority. But utility-scale projects in the interconnection queue won’t arrive fast enough to address the near-term need.

Our approach

Dimension energized its first net energy metering (NEM) project in Pennsylvania in 2025, delivering meaningful solar-powered savings and grid relief to the state. Made possible by Pennsylvania’s NEM program, which supports distributed energy projects up to 3 MW, this milestone marked the beginning of an exciting long-term partnership between our team and local industry.

Because our projects can be developed and brought online far faster than utility-scale alternatives, they add new generation without the delays of transmission upgrades or lengthy interconnection processes. That speed and flexibility translate directly into cost savings: a recent analysis found that expanding distributed solar across Pennsylvania could save ratepayers up to $1 billion. Over the next three years, we plan to help unlock those savings by installing more than 100 MW of distributed NEM facilities across the region.
