First shared solar provider to come online in Virginia
Majority of customers are low-income households
Portfolio will power more than 10,000 homes
Many households in Virginia have limited access to affordable energy options. When the Virginia Clean Economy Act passed in 2020, it created a pathway for change—but turning policy into impact required sustained collaboration. Dimension stepped in, working with Virginia policymakers and local leaders for years to shape the commonwealth’s shared solar framework to prioritize accessibility and affordability.

After years of collaboration with policymakers, community leaders, and landowners, we broke new ground in Virginia—bringing the state’s first shared solar projects online in February 2024. Now, we’re expanding our portfolio to deliver clean power to more than 10,000 homes—bringing new generation online quickly while expanding access to affordable energy. With a majority of solar credits directed to low-income households, and through partnerships with organizations like Community Housing Partners, we’re helping reduce energy costs for residents while supporting broader housing affordability across the commonwealth.
